Trash Can Open Benefits Children
Great fun, great cause made Trash Can Open a success!
Friendly competition, marshmallow drives and the aroma of roasting pork marked the 3rd annual Hills Septic Service & Kieffer Sanitation Trash Can Open golf tournament.
On September 1, 2016, 100 golfers on 25 teams helped raise more than $25,000 to support the Children’s Home Society Child Advocacy Center. Proceeds were matched by the Rushmore Rotary Club which doubled the money raised to $50,000 for children and families in the community. The annual event was held at the Golf Club at Red Rock in Rapid City.
“We couldn’t possibly put on such a great and wonderful event without our sponsors. They allow us to set fun standards of what the teams will see when they play,” said Brianna Myers . “Everyone’s passion towards such a great organization is always prevalent and makes for a fun-filled day raising money for an important cause.”
The Children’s Home Society Child Advocacy Center – serving western South Dakota and some in Wyoming - provides a safe, child friendly location for conducting expert forensic interviews and medical examinations of children who are alleged victims of sexual and/or physical abuse, or who have witnessed a serious crime.
If you missed the 2016 event, join us for the 4th annual tournament in 2017. Event dates and information will be announced in February 2017.
